Calendar Overview
- July 1: All unit chair/director fiscal year appointments begin
- July 1: Faculty recruitment cycle begins
- July 1: Fall lecturer/temporary faculty spreadsheets and offer letters due to CEAS FA
- July 1: Units complete Professional Improvement Agreements (PIA) for faculty rated at “Below Expectations” or “Unsatisfactory” during an AY25-26 review process
- July 8:Inaugural New & Returning Chairs Orientation (ALI event)
- July 15: Department Chair & Program Director Retreat (CEAS Dean's event)
- July 16: Department Chair Workshop (college event)
- July 29: HR Liaison Workshop on faculty processes and training (college event)
During July:
- Faculty recruitment begins for AY26-27 (information and instructions sent following the Department Chair & Program Director Retreat)
- Units work on upcoming AY26-27 Comprehensive Review, Promotion & Tenure (CRPT) cases for tenured/tenure-track faculty
- Teaching Professor First Level Review Committee (TP FLRC) membership is set
- August 11: New & Returning Leaders Orientation (ALI event)
- August 12: Annual Faculty Promotion Awards (college event)
- August 13: AY26-27 faculty contracts start

During August:
- CEAS FA sends official case timeline statements to units for AY26-27 CRPT cases
- CEAS FA sends units training compliance information for faculty members
- First Level Review Committee (FLRC) launches training and hire-with-tenure cases with Spring 2027 starts; FLRC continues to meet and review cases throughout AY
- CEAS FA sends units information on sabbatical application deadlines and Sabbatical Reports due in October
- CEAS FA sends units information on reappointments and promotion processes for teaching professors
- Units begin work on upcoming AY26-27 reappointments and promotion cases for teaching professors
- September 2: Dean’s Faculty Fellow Reports due to CEAS FA
- September 2, 9, and 16: FLRC Training Sessions
- September 10, 11, and 14: Live Consultations for CEAS Faculty Search Committees
- September 11: Faculty job ads submitted to CEAS FA

- November 6: Nominations due to ADFA for CEAS Awards (e.g., Charles A. Hutchinson Memorial Teaching Award, Max S. Peters Faculty Service Award, CEAS Faculty Research Award, CEAS Outstanding Staff Award, and Textbook Recognition Award)

- Unit leaders identify faculty with ratings of “Below Expectations” or “Unsatisfactory” during an AY26-27 review process
- CEAS FA sends units communication about mandatory and non-mandatory CRPT cases for AY26-27
- Nomination process begins for the Provost’s Faculty Achievement Awards (includes solicitation from the Office of Faculty Affairs and eligibility list)
