Gamow Tower/ENVD Window Retrofit
This project involves a non-invasive window retrofit for Gamow Tower and the top floor of the ENVD Building. The retrofit is being implemented by Inovues, a company specializing in advanced window systems that are installed inside existing fenestration—similar to interior storm windows—without the need for removal or modification of the original windows.
Scope of work
Gamow Tower:
- Every window will receive a high-performance vacuum-insulated glass (VIG) insert. These inserts are mounted on the interior side of the existing windows, preserving their operability while significantly enhancing thermal performance.
ENVD Building (Top/3rd Floor):
- An insulating glass retrofit (IGR) solution will be installed using Low-E coated single-pane clear glass. This upgrade will effectively transform the existing windows into high-performance double-pane systems, while maintaining full operability.

Specifics:
- No demolition or drilling required: The retrofit process involves no removal, replacement, or alteration of the existing window systems.
- Enhanced energy efficiency: Both buildings are fully metered, allowing for measurable reductions in heating and cooling loads.
- Improved occupant comfort: The upgrades are expected to significantly improve thermal comfort and satisfaction for building occupants.
December 15, 2025: Windows are currently being installed at Gamow Tower. Installation will continue through the next few weeks and should be complete by mid-January. A post-energy study of energy leakage will be performed.
September 22, 2025: Window installation on the top floor of ENVD is complete.
The retrofit process involves no removal, replacement or alteration of existing window systems and will not cause any construction impacts.
